Silly Valentine Poems

And now (to borrow from Monty Python) for something completely different. I am inspired by memories of silly love poems composed by my best friend and me during high school and college (often during class). In that vein, here are some silly Valentine’s Day poems. …because everyone needs something intellectually devoid now and then.

Poem of the Obsessive-Compulsive Lover:
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
I like them in rows
Lined up with my shoes.

Poem of the Elderly Lover:
Violets are blue,
Roses are red -
Where are my glasses?
On top of my head.

Poem of the Dyslexic Lover:
Violets are red,
Roses are blue,
I’m crying for you,
Hoo-boo, hoo-boo.

Poem of the Deceased Lover:
Violets are blue,
Roses are red -
Their roots look lovely
Right over my head.

  1. What fun! Here’s one (not for Valentine’s Day though):

Violets are blue, roses are red,
They will be, at least, when garage’d is the sled.

  2. I love those! Quite entertaining. :)

    • Tee hee. I had to entertain myself on Valentine’s Day. ;-P
