The Pleasures of Delusion

There are times when I actually miss the pleasures of delusion – the innocent ignorance and farcical peace that encompass the mind in false comfort. Delusion is only pleasant when it is thorough, when not even a hint of reality smirches its blinding whiteness. It is not denial; that implies willful ignorance. Even delusion’s false comfort is compelling when reality is so splintery and painful.

It seems to me that this is indeed a vulnerable-unto-dangerous mentality.
